APNewsBreak: Alabama man arrested in terrorism probe

An Alabama man has been apprehended as part of a yearslong terrorism probe in which the FBI says he told agents he would execute a U.S. soldier if ordered to do so by the Islamic State group.

FBI agents took Nayef Qashou into custody Monday. He’s charged with lying to the FBI and destroying records.

In a newly unsealed affidavit, the FBI says Qashou arrived in the U.S. through Atlanta’s airport in 2015, planning to study nursing at an Opelika, Alabama, community college. The FBI interviewed him more than a dozen times over the next four years.

He used encrypted phone apps to communicate with suspected terrorists who told him he should carry out an attack in the United States, the FBI said.

“Qashou would not tell interviewers exactly how he responded to the suggestion to conduct a U.S. attack,” FBI Special Agent Scott Sullivan wrote in the sworn affidavit. “He stated he essentially responded by saying the only way he could justify an attack is for it to be against U.S. Armed Forces personnel on U.S. soil.”

They were probably waiting for him to cut off a few heads. He would not do that now, so they decided to pick him up. Later on they will turn him over to one of their cult handlers who will shoot him full of joy juice, hand him an AK point him at a crowd and say”Go do it”. Presto, another shooting. We gotta get rid of them guns.

“lying to the FBI and destroying records”. Isn’t that what Hillary clinton did? I guess comey would say that no reasonable prosecutor would pursue charges on this fine muslim man.

Please release him to the public. And before you do, tell us real Alabaman men when and where you release him.

Problem solved.

The Tsarnaev family was hot, too. Mueller was warned several times about them by Russia, England and Saudi Arabia. Not only did they get their visas renewed but got US citizenship during the time the feds knew they were the bad guys. IIRC, Russia was going to hold Tamarlan on an expired US visa when he was on an extended visit there honing his skills with terrorists but noooo, we issued him a new one.

Much the same with the San Bernardino shooters. FR was listening in on the police radio channel and the cops were discussing they had been told of him two weeks prior.

I would say they were interested to see where his contacts led. Not wise to arrest them right away, as long as you know that you have 24/7 tabs on the surveilled person’s movements. This is how they foil a lot of threats.

“Oh yeah, real “Alabaman” this guy is.”

I laugh every time I read one of these. My favorite was something like “Juan Martinez Hernandez Ochoa, from Wilmer, Alabama....” Believe, there ain’t no Juan Martinez whoever originally from Wilmer, Al. He may have worked in the nurseries, but he ain’t from around here.

"He’s charged with lying to the FBI and destroying records."

Are there "records" civilians are not allowed to destroy?
