Sen. Mike Lee’s Green Card Giveaway for Big Tech Blocked in Senate, for Now
Breitbart ^ | 19 Sep 2019 | JOHN BINDER

Posted on 09/20/2019 12:25:16 PM PDT by NobleFree

[...] On Thursday, as Lee attempted to push through his and Sen. Kamala Harris’s (D-CA) S. 386 — legislation that would allow Indian nationals to effectively monopolize the U.S. green card system for at least ten years — Perdue blocked a vote because he is concerned about the impact the plan will have on rural healthcare industries.

“I support this bill … we have some language that needs to be clarified,” Perdue said. “And I still have some concerns about the impact this legislation would have on some specific industries in my state and in the country.”

Lee said he expects to work with Perdue on getting his support in order to push for a vote sometime next week.

[…] Lee’s S. 386 will ensure outsourcing firms such as Cognizant and Infosys, as well as giant tech conglomerates like Amazon and Facebook, have a green card system wherein only foreign workers on H-1B visas are able to obtain employment green cards by creating a backlog of seven to eight years for all foreign nationals.

This process would solidify that employment-based green cards only go to temporary foreign visa workers […]

While about 25 percent of all employment-based green cards currently are rewarded to Indian nationals today, should Lee’s legislation pass, Indian nationals will obtain more than 90 percent of all the employment-based green cards for at least a decade.

[...] In this election cycle, Lee has raked in more than $33,000 from the Microsoft Corporation, about $18,400 from Google, $12,500 from Jeff Bezos’ Amazon, $12,000 from the Oracle Corporation, $11,000 from Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook, and nearly $11,000 from the Koch-owned Koch Agronomic Services.

During the 2018 election cycle, Lee enjoyed a more than $112,000 combined donation from Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Facebook, Oracle, and Koch Agronomic Services. […]

Lee is too stupid to realize that none of these companies would back him in an election bid.

I can't figure out why Mike Lee is sucking up to big tech. Yeah, if you drive I-15 in Salt Lake and Utah counties, most of the big ones are there but last I heard, they had no trouble filling these jobs with Americans.

If he were a left coast senator, I could understand it. But Utah?

This abomination should be stopped at all costs.

The traitors pushing have text in the bill saying that the US shouldn’t have the right to set country caps because “national origin discrimination is unlawful”.

Say what? The United States have no right to decide which countries immigrants can come from?

National origin civil rights in the 14th Amendment don’t apply to foreign nationals. They apply to citizens and lawful permanent residents whose ethnic origin might be an issue.

This bill is beyond belief in its Leftist stupidity. Worse, the list of “Republicans” sponsoring it crow about working with the single worst far left immivasionist in the Congress, one Zoe Lofgren of Baja San Jose.

The woman is a deranged, unhinged hater of the Americans who got her start as an anti-Vietnam war agitator under Don Edwards, the original dishrag liberal from Northern California.

It has to be stopped at all costs. It outlaws the nation.

The bill text is at https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/senate-bill/386/text

It is not clear to me from the text how these new green cards would specifically be intended for those on H1-B non immigrant visas.

GOOD!
the big tech companies love to hire foreign workers (they pay them a bit less and they can Lord it over them, threatening deportation if they don’t work overtime, etc)

some of the cities in Silly-Con Valley appear to be above (or fast approaching) a MAJORITY of foreign residents (we have the racial demographics at least, and MANY many of the “Chinese” or “Asian” people in the area do NOT speak worthwhile English, they only speak the usual very limited English without any familiarity with American usages or referents ...so its obvious they were not raised in USA!)...

Plus I should add that Orrin Hatch hated Microsoft with the purple passion because Word Perfect Corporation built a state of the art facility on the north side of Provo in the late 1980s.

Once Bill Gates decided he wanted Microsoft to gain a near monopoly on software as well as operating systems, Word destroyed Word Perfect and Excel destroyed Quattro, not because they were better software packages but because of sheer marketing muscle.

Sometime in the mid or late 1990s, Word Perfect Corporation folded up shop and moved to Ireland. They still have some support services and gave me their suite package when I bought a new Dell about a decade ago, but no idea what they are doing now.

Ancestry.Com ended up buying the former Word Perfect facility and, according to friends and family in the area, more than replaced the jobs when Word Perfect moved.

It must be a bigger one. They already have a good sized facility along I-15 in the Lehi area. Wayfair, Facebook and a number of other famous internet brands also have great and spacious buildings along that route.
