Seems to me this should be a simple to rule on case. Other than politics, which can make a P.B.J. sandwich difficult commonsense, and precedent should prevail. The U.N. is who hands out the blue helmets.

It is. The U.S. signed, and the Senate ratified, a treaty giving the U.N. diplomatic immunity in U.S. courts.
