I have all my plastic containers stacked inside of each other by size. All the lids are in a nearby drawer, gathered and held together by rubber bands.

All my pet food is on the third shelf, drinks on the second shelf, pasta and soup on the first.

Paper and trash bags are stored way up high.

All of my clothes are in order by color and style and I track them on a spreadsheet, yes I do.

I tell my granddaughter and I shall state here, unorganized people throw away 20-30% of their lives by my estimate. The time spent looking for a lid could be time to crochet, write, watch a good show, listen to a Trump rally.

Someday my house will look like Monk’s.

My opposite opinion:

I know where everything is. I threw it in that cabinet, and it is there. It only takes me a brief moment to see it, and I keep a handy flashlight with magnet on the kitchen refrigerator just for that purpose.

The time I do not spend organizing my shelves is time to do other things (I don’t crotchet)...

Felix Versus Oscar.

To go full Monk, you would have to ensure that the sour cream containers are nested in expiration date order, that the original labels all face the same way, and that the lids in another drawer are matched to the original containers by serial number. Anything short of that would be like having one of the umbrellas facing the other way.
