Farhad Manjoo (born August 19, 1978) is an American journalist and author. Manjoo was a staff writer for Slate magazine from 2008 to 2013 and left Slate in September 2013 to join The Wall Street Journal as a technology columnist.[1] Manjoo replaced columnist David Pogue at The New York Times in January 2014[2] and has been a contributor to National Public Radio since 2009.[3]
A cisgender man, Manjoo prefers to be referred to with singular they pronouns.[4] Their family left South Africa when Manjoo was eight years old,[5] and "they" were raised in Southern California. As an undergraduate, "they" served as writer and editor-in-chief of the Cornell Daily Sun student newspaper.
