They're seeing Trump's numbers rise AND they're seeing a group of pathetic misfits running for the Democrat nomination in 2020.
They'd never be going down this road if they thought they had a chance in hell of beating Trump in 2020.

They’re seeing Trump’s numbers rise lately and are in a panic. Emerson has Trump at +1 today. Pretty sure this is the first time I’ve ever seen any non-Rasmussen poll have Trump in positive territory.
