Sandra Lee's Kwanzza cake was called "scary" and "the most ghastly-sounding dish in Lee's culinary repertoire"......

Andy's mother Matilda was a generaional Italian cook---her sauces were seasoned to perfection and simmered for hours before serving.

The story goes that short-cut Sandra Lee served Matilda spaghetti with ketchup (gag).

My wife and I used to watch her "Semi-Homemade" show long ago on the Food Network. Her gimmick was that she would use store-bought things and combine them with scratch-made things for a quick way to make a meal. I never saw her do anything like substituting ketchup for spaghetti sauce. Why should she? Store bought spaghetti sauce is readily available. I think the "ketchup for spaghetti sauce" story is a tall tale.

What she would have done is bought some spaghetti sauce in a jar (Ragu, Merzetta, Rao, etc) and then doctored it up with oregano, basil, garlic, etc to make it taste more homemade.
