House Democratic leaders are eyeing a fast-paced investigation into the possible impeachment of President Trump, instructing the committees handling the probe to wrap up their findings within weeks in hopes of concluding before the holiday season.

Some Democratic lawmakers and aides said Thursday, speaking on the condition of anonymity to describe private deliberations, that they believed impeachment articles could be ready for a House vote around Thanksgiving.

Because everyone knows any Republican Senator who votes to convict, ends their career at that moment. Instantly. AND they think it will solidify their base in the 2020 election.

The fools had better believe you or face unintended retirement from politics.

What little third or fourth party would the RINOs win in? Know Nothings or New Whigs? There always used to be minority 1-2% parties like Uncle Sam Party and Greenback Party on ballots. Anti-Trump traitors could go there. But we would never vote for such trash again.

I met RFK at Disneyland the day before he was killed. I was eight.

Maybe politicians should pay us to NOT hang around near them.

JFK and RFK Rest in Peace. Political disagreements set aside.

The sky is falling. It’s all over. Magic Underpants is really in charge. We all know the story. /sarcasm.

So, if you are so sure, why don’t you put your money on that prediction?

As everyone keeps asking: Impeach him for WHAT exactly. There was nothing in that phone call and while the media can spin anything they want day to day if we get an actual floor vote there is going to have to be evidence and firm understandable charges that even the lowest common denominator of American citizen can undestand. They are not going to have anything to offer as a reason once the low info voters go looking for why he is being impeached... which at the end of the process they will as it will be a worldwide spectacle. This is political suicide.

A simple majority is all that is need in the House to impeach. The Senate needs a 2/3 vote to convict and remove from Office. If convicted, he is automatically removed from Office. The Vice President is sworn in.

“In other news, RBG dead by thanksgiving.”

If Buzzy departs for the underground, I’m 100% sure that they will say a president that is being impeached should not be allowed to appoint a replacement.

It’s probably one of the reasons they’re going through this charade.

The House just needs a simple majority to impeach. It then goes to the Senate for trial, which needs 2/3rds to convict.

Don’t they need to have a vote first to author the process? They haven’t even done that yet.

Breitbart reported there was a vote on a motion to table a resolution submitted by Kevin McCarthy:

Resolved: That the House of Representatives disapproves of the actions of the Speaker of the House, Mrs. Pelosi of California, to initiate an impeachment inquiry against the duly elected President of the United States, Donald J. Trump.
The House vote was to table McCarthy's motion against Pelosi's unilateral declaration of an impeachment inquiry without a full House vote.

Breitbart is saying that the House implied a vote to proceed with an impeachment inquiry by blocking McCarthy's vote of disapproval of Pelosi, without having to actually vote in the affirmative to launch an impeachment inquiry.

This was more of the usual no-means-yes type of chicanery that we've become used to. They vote in the negative to block a vote that supposedly stops something, and the vote to block stopping an act is a de fact vote to approve proceeding with the act.

It's what McConnell did with the Iran treaty. The Senate failed to vote to block the treaty, instead of constitutionally voting to ratify the treaty.

They need 20 Republican Senators.

Romney and Murkowski are only 2.

And the charges are going to be...

...announced after the vote.

You have to vote for impeachment to find out what the charges are.

‘why a democrat senate is needed’

To expand and continue the coup - that's how it would be perceived. This is a constitutional republic with separation of powers, not a parliamentary democracy with complete oversight on the head of state. The DemComs are claiming powers they don't even have, and people are instinctively sensing that. Besides political fallout, their reckless antics are set to take a toll on American society itself - and they don't seem to care one wit.

And the media has gone full court press.

Boy, have they. Caught the NBC evening news with Lester the news molester - they were spiking the ball all over, even said "this historic day" in the impeachment of Donald Trump - yeah they did, heard it with my own ears. Media has declared it a done deal. What the F. We are now one of those backwards little banana republics people used to point to and shake their heads in dismay at.

Don't forget.

Jeff Flake says that if the impeachment vote in the Senate was private, 35 GOP senators would vote against Trump.

I'm just sayin'....

Are they going to kill off 20 Republicans in the Senate and replace them with Democrats?

Don't give them any ideas. They probably would do that.

Shooting themselves in the foot, if you like.

So you think 20 or more Republican senators will cut their own throats just to get rid of Trump? Because that is what they would be doing.
