For all that Nixon was a really tough fighter, at the end he was out there almost all alone. He had no defenders in the press, almost none in the Capitol, and fewer every day out in the far reaches of America. The propaganda tools used against him had finally gained enough traction to pry his hands off the levers of power.

Like the Founding Fathers, who had pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor, Nixon fought to the last ditch, only to learn it emptied into a bottomless cesspool. Nixon was essentially exiled within his own country.

Knowing all this could be turned against him as well, Donald J. Trump STILL walked into the lions’ den.

Several lions already rue the day. If the rule is “Take no prisoners”, then there is only one alternative.

Winning might not be everything, but losing isn’t anything.
