Yes, and I always keep in mind the efforts to “stop Trump” going all the way back to the time when he was just a candidate. The GOPe efforts to stop Trump from being nominated. The suggestions of monkeying with the Electoral College after the election to keep him from taking office at all. The various other suggestions of ways to stop Trump: assassination, military coup, 25th Amendment. The other calls for impeachment, including the one that had Trump impeached and removed first, and then Pence, so that Pelosi could succeed. And even more bizarre ones that have Pelosi name H. Clinton as VP, resign, and then H. Clinton could take her rightful place in the Oval Office. I actually saw average Americans on social media thinking that was a good idea. And then there are horrid and contrived scandals they have thrown against him and failed to stick. And the endless lies and slanders about him and about us, his supporters.
I have supported Donald Trump since I saw him in the first GOP debate. I liked his spirit. I liked his being an outsider. He spoke clearly to some of the big problems that endanger the country. Just as importantly, he had all the right enemies — people I have not liked or trusted for decades, some of the most reprehensible among us who do not have the interests of the country at heart, who should not be anywhere near positions of power, and whom I have no interest in following into the further ruination of this country.
Those enemies of his are mine as well.
Excellent post. I feel exactly the same as you.
