The Whistleblower Executive
Wall Street Journal ^ | October 2, 2019 6:50 pm ET

The impeachment process is barely underway and already some constitutional norms are being trampled without a note of media notice or political concern. To wit, can a whistleblower inside the intelligence bureaucracy override a President’s right to executive privilege merely with an accusation?

That seems to be the default view among Democrats and the press as they luxuriate in news about Donald Trump’s conversations with foreign leaders. First it was the call with Ukraine’s President. Then on Monday the leak was what Mr. Trump told Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison. Now Democrats want to see the transcripts of other phone calls with other leaders.

“This is a coverup,” declared Nancy Pelosi last week, but if that’s true it is the most incompetent coverup in presidential history. Mr. Trump can’t seem to have any conversation that doesn’t leak, in part or whole, or that can’t be demanded by Congress as if everyone in the executive branch works for the House Speaker. Mr. Trump has released the Ukraine transcript and the whistleblower complaint, and he’s still accused of a coverup.

Last week’s inquisition of acting director of national intelligence Joseph Maguire by House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff captures the prevailing disdain for the separation of powers when Mr. Trump is the political target. Mr. Maguire, who has an impeccable reputation, had received the whistleblower complaint as part of his duties. He then acted responsibly by seeking legal advice about whether the document was subject to executive privilege.

Mr. Schiff berated him for even waiting to turn the document over to Congress: “At any time over the last month that you held this complaint, did the White House assert executive privilege?”

Spox for House Intel Committee Chair Schiff acknowledged that the whistleblower who triggered
impeachment had (cough) “reached out to Schiff” BEFORE filing a complaint

SPIT-— SURE he did. AFTER Schiff called around asking for dirt on Trump.

Come on......it’s next to impossible to believe a Deep State insider with six-figure govt job comes on bended knee in obeisance to Schiff for “help”
.....and that “benevolent Schiff helped” him write the complaint.

ASAP-—Trump’s apparat needs to subpoena Schiff’s email, landline records, snail mail, etc, to find out who Schiff has been talking to.

Schiff knows who’s get the dirt. The Intel committee he heads oversees all or part of the following executive branch departments and agencies:

Office of the Director of National Intelligence

Central Intelligence Agency

Defense Intelligence Agency

Department of Defense

Department of Energy

Department of Homeland Security

Department of Justice

Department of State

Department of Treasury

Drug Enforcement Administration

Federal Bureau of Investigation

National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency

National Reconnaissance Office

National Security Agency

Office of Naval Intelligence

Twenty-Fifth Air Force

United States Army Intelligence and Security Command

United States Coast Guard Intelligence

Marine Corps Intelligence Activity

Screwball Schiff reading from “Democraps’ Impeachment Playbook” warns that resistance to Congress’
demands counts as “evidence” of obstruction of justice, and warrants another impeachment charge.

Balderdash ..... pushback is NOT obstruction. Trump has a constitutional right to defend himself.

Stomping on Trump’s civil rights ..... trying to use pushback for impeachment.....only suggests they’re out of options.

Another internet post put the name Sue Gordon and the word whistleblower together. She apparently was a CIA operative passed over by Trump to be Director of Intel. Just an allegation at this point.

The Left’s starting point is that Trump is an illegitimate president because the 2016 election didn’t turn out the way the Democrats wanted it.

Since he is an illegitimate president, he has no executive privilege, everything he does is wrong, and every act is an impeachable act.

It’s really very simple.

So to the crazy Left Hillary REALLY won the election because they cheated so much and thought they had everything wrapped in a nice bow? Is that it? They are ALL *DELUSIONAL, every last one. They havr yet to ALLOW him to really be President. They are despicable and.desperate

*They should have known better just seeing his rallies.

Coates and Gordon officially left work Sept. 15. She resigned when she found out she was not going to take over Coates’ position as DNI or whatever it’s called.
