The Israelis know all about not having their own homeland, let them help the Kurds get their own homeland if that's the real issue.
As for poor Christian Kurds being put at risk, Ted, I say the same thing the Israelis, Saudis, and US, said while ISIS was beheading Christian men, women, and children well within the operating radius of Israeli troops, US troops, and "freedom fighters" controlled by the Saudis; "not our problem".
I don't recall you, Senator Cruz, swimming against that tide and demanding that we, the Israelis, or the Saudis, do anything to help Christians then. Nor do I remember crocodile tears from you over Christians in Iraq being murdered while US troops wondered around the country looking for the Jihadis rather than operating in and from areas the Jihadists had vowed to cleanse of Christians.
We never lift a finger to protect Christians in the ME, never tell the Israelis that part of the quid pro quo for all our aid is that they protect Christians, and promise to go to war against Russia if Russia tries to protect Christians in the region. When a nice, profitable, little war is about to come to an end, though, suddenly it's "God forbid we leave any Christians in danger."
The Kurds arent Christians. Those who are not rabid Muslims are Communists and have been responsible for a lot of terrorism on their own, and also took over a chunk of Syrian territory. We were supporting them only as a not very good counterweight to other forces in the region, but they havent proved very effective at that either.
Reinstall the Syrian refugees, who form a large part of Europes illegal immigrant population, in Syria. Let the Kurds get their act together themselves, or at any rate, without the loss of American lives.
