Former "National Review" columnist Jonah Goldberg and Steve Hayes of the now-defunct Weekly Standard have launched a conservative media company called The Dispatch.
We aim to make The Dispatch a place that thoughtful readers can come for conservative, fact-based news and commentary that doesnt come either through the filter of the mainstream media or the increasingly boosterish media on the right. Importantly, we want to build a genuine community, with regular engagement between those of us who work here and the readers and listeners who will pay our salaries," Goldberg and Hayes write on the company's website.
Visitors of the site can choose to read content for free or purchase a "Founders Membership" for $1,500, which provides a lifetime membership and other perks including "priority access to meet-ups, events, conference call with top staffers" and "access to robust members-only discussion room."
"Everything will remain free for the next few months. Early next year, well begin charging $10 a month or $100 a year for membership," Hayes indicates in an email to new subscribers.
The publication's newsletter will debut on Wednesday, Axios first reported on Tuesday.
National Review's David French will also be joining The Dispatch as senior editor, the news outlet added.

I don’t follow these characters much, but wouldn’t “The Never Trumper” be a more apt company name than “The Dispatch”?
Losers joining losers for yet more losing.
Steve and Jonah are unemployable so they are going to fail yet again by promulgating grbage for which there is no real readership.
Delusion is a riber in Egypt
Funny, they don’t smell like Conservatives.
They will habe an audience of all conservatives minus the trump base. That will leave a potential circulation of a few thousand customers
Boorish media on the right. Just their twisted opinion.
Conservative media company, HA, HA, HA, HA, LOL, LOL, LOL!!!!!
I hear Bill Kristol is looking for a job. He’d fit right in.
After undermining President Trump what kind of future do the past or present National Review guys think they will have? They devoted a full issue to blasting DJT.
Dems win: Deplatform, demonetize, shadow ban,end their bank accounts,no credit or loans allowed, banned from Facebook and Twitter,no searches allowed on Google by algorithm. IRS weaponized to destroy their wealth.
Enjoy your new life, fellows. You should have appreciated President Trump and the last days of the American Way of Life.
They all sure do miss their old gig as “respectable” conservatives. Funny thing is their old audience does not respect them and they can’t quite get the routine down for CNN
No. These people are not “conservative.” They’re non-Democrat never-Trumpers. They appear on mainstream news trying to sound balanced and respectable, when in fact they are just Democrat-lite.
Perhaps you’re on to something, they concoct this new magazine to give them “cred” so they can get paid contributor status on the nets. Otherwise they are nothing more than bloggers.
Yet both are conservatives. They remind me of some of the French during WW II who gritted their teeth at the gaucheries of the Americans and British who liberated France. Oh why couldn’t they bother to learn and respect French language and vulture? And now they expect us to be grateful!
How is The Dispatch any different than Bill Kristols The Bullwhip?
PASS! No sale.
Mealy Mouthed Media.
They wanted another Mitt Romney to roll over and die for Hillary. Hayes and Goldberg have done NOTHING, except talk, in the advancement of Conservatism.
Trump has done more in that regard than all the clowns like Kristol, Hayes, and Goldberg COMBINED have done in a lifetime.
With these assholes, I wouldn't read it for free and I can't wait not to pay $100 a year.
If they don't have some deep pocket backers, they'll never last until the election.
Sounds like a big loser from the start.
They might as well be working for MSNBC or CNN. Us “boosterich” right-wingers won’t be going there.
Seems to me this “conservative” sort of publication was attempted before by Kristol, and company. Seems if I recollect correctly it didn’t quite push the right buttons.
Color me boorish on the right, so I cant join in their attempts to pretend to be conservative!
Details: Goldberg and Hayes tell me they plan a reporting-driven, Trump-skeptical company that will begin with newsletters as soon as this summer, then add a website in September, and perhaps ultimately a print magazine.
