New York (CNN Business)President Donald Trump, facing an ever-deepening scandal that threatens to swallow his presidency, appears to have lost a key ally in conservative media: The Drudge Report.

The narrative-setting news aggregation website, founded in 1995 by Matt Drudge, has spotlighted an overwhelming amount of negative news for the Trump White House in the last several weeks. It's marked a major shift from how the outlet had previously covered the President.

"He's reacting to changing circumstances," a person close to the media mogul, who said Drudge had grown exasperated with Trump, told CNN Business.

Drudge’s departure from our side is what “getting out of Dodge” looks like. He has sold the farm and he’s in the wind, ahead of the pending s_storm.

In 2016, Drudge reached his peak audience with 1.5 BILLION page views per month. He’s lost more than 40% of that audience.

Google-owned Drudge is not relevant news.

After selling, it’s a Trojan horse.

It’s been months. Started shortly after Trump banned transgenders.

Drudge was the go to site for a long time.
Now all the links are so full of adds it make reading a story impossible.

He has been anti Trump since the start.

LOL!

Is this an example of “breaking news” at CNN?

Drudge was conspicuously anti-Trump by late 2015.

CNN uses the BIG LIE language “Ever deepening scandal” in the first sentence.

If anything the scandal is becoming laughable. The reports are hysterical but the source documents are benign.

Yet they repeat and repeat, as the DNC commands.

BWAAAAA! Drudge is as influential as an 80 year old hookers discarded tampon thrown in an Baltimore alley way, in the middle of August, being chewed on by rats!

...a person close to the media mogul...

Anyone else tired of hearing the opinion of a lunch clerk as an expert source on CNN? Just once I'd like to have a name go with the (often fabricated) story.

Well, not me. I don’t care what Drudge thinks. Never did.

Wow! I didn’t know that. I knew Drudge the last few years was not a Trump supporter but didn’t know why.

“President Donald Trump, facing an ever-deepening scandal that threatens to swallow his presidency”

Yes, the fevered wet-dreams of CNN lib-tards, these fellows know all about swallowing. What Trump is really facing is an ever-deepening scandal that threatens to expose and destroy the rancid corrupt Democrat party. Let’s hope it destroys CNN while it’s at it.

I don’t see a source that supports the claim Drudge sold his site to Google

Drudge made a FORTUNE off of the Bill CLinton Impeachment. It MADE him. He sees a chance to cash in again.

It REALLY disappoints me. He’s been my ‘Home Page’ for 10+ years. Not anymore.

I still check it, occasionally.... But, I no longer want to give him the clicks.

Re: Turns out Drudge sold out to Google very quietly sometime back.

Thanks for the update.

I had no idea.

Whatever Google paid was too much because millions of Conservatives are walking away from the Drudge Report.

He has a top 50 website out of all the websites in the world. So he is pretty influential. And quite a few people here get their material to post from his site.

Trump made plenty of enemies before being PONTUS, and many after.

To be honest, I think Trump’s position is not near as strong as he thinks it is.
