One human rights advocate in the region, Geoff Ramsey, tweeted: "Incredibly counterproductive. Any civil society NGO [non-governmental organisation] or independent media outlet that relies on registered copies of Photoshop, InDesign or Acrobat will be impacted."

I'm pretty sure Photoshop been a basic human right since the 1500's. Socialism sucks. They really do need to get rid of it.

This is another reason to not support Software As A Service. In the meantime, the GNU Image Manipulation Program is a free and open alternative to Photoshop and nobody can turn it off remotely.

It’s in the constitution

“right to pursue Photoshop”

Excel almost made it but Jefferson objected. Figures.

But why are we attacking relatively harmless (to us) Venezuela people when commie China steals our secrets and actually threatens America and its own people? The commie Chinese dictator forever has the NBA groveling as well as other US businesses. Shouldn’t we be consistent?

"prohibit almost all transactions and services between US companies, entities and individuals to Venezuela."

The order applies to the government of venezuela and the list of restricted persons, not the general public.

Has venezuela nationalized the use of adobe, or is it just that only the government has licenses?

Adobe extorted their customers when they refused to let them own software anymore.

Anyone above moron status can tell at a glance that the theories of Karl Marx won't work. Any honest person will admit it.

Socialism is merely a step in the direction of world-wide communism, which is the objective of Marx's theories.

In the first place, as Marx himself acknowledged, a totalitarian government is required for its implementation.

There will always be resistance to totalitarianism, but even if it should succeed, the final step in his plan requires a miracle: viz., once world-wide communism is established under the totalitarian regime, miraculously the need for government suddenly vanishes and everyone lives in paradise on earth.

The theories assume that the totalitarian government will be benevolent, another miracle, but recognize the necessity of warfare and brutal repression in enforcing its authority. The Soviet Union, 21st century North Korea, and Pol Pot's Cambodia are examples of the brutality required.

The final miracle has never been reached. No one has gotten that far.

The socialist miracles, e.g. Sweden, succeeded only because such nations were small and culturally homogeneous, were protected by strict immigration laws, and--of greatest importance--were supported by the capitalist world outside their borders.

One of the greatest fatal flaws in Marx's theories is their disregard of human nature. Inevitably, those attracted to power of the magnitude that only governments can provide will be corrupt or corruptible and ultimately self-serving. Corrupt, luxury loving oligarchs ruling over the proletariat are inherent, characteristic, and inevitable.

All of these flaws in the theories are obvious.

Nevertheless, some continue to insist that the theories will work.

Some apparently believe this, though such belief requires astonishing denial, ignorance, or some other form of intellectual disfunction.

Some use the theories cynically for personal gain.

But no honest, intelligent, and benevolent person would give them any support, which speaks clearly about those who do.

Only fools store their files “in the cloud” or use rented software.
