To: old curmudgeon

Much of the world still travels by bicycle. Or walking. Wouldn’t be a bad idea, if you’re not FORCED to do it. Do people in the U.K. still have a high percentage of cycling?

My job caused me to be in large factories.

Before obummer.

In the summer, many of the workers would rush home at quitting time where their wives would have the family car loaded so that all the man had to do is jump out of his “go to work” beater into the family car and off they would go with the kids to the beach.

Human nature being what it is, I am confident this scene was repeated all over the country, although the destination would vary according to where they lived.

In this area, a four to five hour trip.

I don’t think AOC and Gore will be very popular when voters find out that their nutty ideas will end that pleasure.

Trains?

Forget it. It would probably take three days by train.

The last one I took was Easter weekend 1950. I swore that if I ever got off the **** thing I would never get on another.
