The President is the chief law enforcement officer of the United States.
He was asking for evidence of a CRIME - several crimes, actually.
This is not “asking for dirt on Biden”.
No he is not and no he was not. President’s have NOTHING to do with law enforcement. And he was doing oppo research. Not illegal, the whole kerfuffle is stupid.
