I remember when the push for deposing Assad started..during the obama administration. McCain was head cheerleader iirc. I also remember reading that the Christians were fearful that he would be removed somehow and that they would be left to the wolves. I never ‘got’ what they were pushing only that it sounded like b.s. Assad is westernized and so is his wife something obama hates. The only thing I saw was if Assad was removed, isis would move in and further establish a caliphate.
