It is their war now.

We have fine weapons for sale, if anyone needs any.

Our boys will be down at the snack bar in the meanwhile.

Unlike the SDF Kurds, the Syrian Regime and its allies are prolific executioners of ISIS prisoners.

I expect the Alawites to prevent the Sunni Arabs from returning, possibly by way of exemplary massacres.

“It is their war now.”

Should have been all along - with them getting making deals and getting help from local parties, instead of just getting around to it now.

SDF agreeing to Assad’s rule is a BIG WIN for Turkey.
They could go back home a winner if they want now. Assad will keep a tight rein on the Kurds.
Assad will see to a lot of refugee resettlement there.

Or they could turn to Idlib province.
No idea what kind of deal could be agreed on for Idlib.

It is their war now.

This is the way civil wars are supposed to come to an end. The peace talks should have begun when the Kurds captured Raqqa, effectively defeating ISIS in Kurdish held territory. Instead, they thought they could hold out, for what? A Kurdish state? 'Rojava'? That was never going to happen without long term presence of the USA. Now, the Kurds can negotiate their new role in Syria with Assad. And all it took was Trump getting us out of the way. Maybe we should have done this earlier, like before Turkey threatened invasion.

Getting into Syria to overthrow the Assad regime and replace it with ISIS was pure treason from the beginning. Assad, after all, was no threat to us and the Russians, having been there all along, weren’t either. Our withdrawl is putting things back in order. Great move, PRESIDENT Trump!!

This should have happened years ago.

President Trump will save many, many lives by allowing the Syrian govt to reclaim Syrian territory. They will defend the Kurds from the Jihadists & deal with the ISIS prisoners.

President Trump will deserve a Nobel peace price if he is able to end the Syrian war in this fashion.

How did this story get on BBC? This does not fit the anti-Trump narrative.

I guess the Kurds don’t sit around and cry about changing fortunes ... like American leftists.

Our troops being there did nothing but delay what would eventually happen.

If THEY couldn't negotiate a mutually acceptable lasting peace agreement for all sides a fight was inevitable.

The tragedy is innocent people will suffer for the petty failings and ambitions of power-mad leaders.

You can’t blame Turkey for wanting to get rid of 3.66 million refugees. We know that feeling.
