California's Gavin Newsom's big, voter-approved gas tax won't be for repairing highways after all

Last November, Democrats hailed California voters' rejection of Proposition 6, a law to scrap the state's 2017 massive gas taxes.  They crowed that Californians were glad to pay five bucks at the pump when the rest of the U.S. average was half that.  Big reason?  Because $3 billion of those takings would save the state's tumbledown highways and go to repair roads and bridges.  The rejection came after a voters showed strong signs of wanting to get rid of the tax until a barrage of television ads ran, warning that any vote to repeal the gas tax would mean the state's decrepit highways and bridges would go wanting for repair funds:

A vote to repeal the gas tax would leave our highways wastelands!  Highway apocalypse if this gas-tax repeal went through! Saving the whales became saving the highways, and as shriller and shriller ads ran, voter sentiment shifted, and the tax was voted to remain.

Here's a very good KUSI news video of what voters thought they were getting:

Welp. Turns out the tax wasn't about repairing roads and highways after all.  On Sept. 20, in a little noted maneuver, Governor Gavin Newsom issued an executive order to divert the tax cash away from crumbling highway repair to greenie political pet projects instead.  To heck with the highways; it was time to save the Earth.  According to an Oct. 7 item from the California Globe:

Governor Newsom signed Executive Order N-19-19 September 20, directing the already controversial gas tax money away from fixing local highways in favor of rail projects.

Fortunately the dems in control here in Washington state haven’t pulled those tricks yet. However, after the last increase, the state funded a new floating bridge across Lake Washington that the DOT had been designing for years. Within 1 month of this billion dollar project, the contractor proved to the state that the design for the floating pontoons was severely flawed and the state wrote a $400,000,000 million change order. But at least this time the state bridge engineer got fired.

California; the first 3rd world banana republic state in America. Followed closely by NY, NJ, CN, OR, WA, IL, and other hard blue states. Heck; Russia is a paradise compared to CA now! I mean that literally. Other than Russia’s intense dislike for all religions and being too cold; it wouldn’t be so bad comparatively.

Imagine the beaming pride of Gruesome Newsom and his minions of subhuman feces eating demons! California is one step closer to total destruction. I wish the good people good fortune in recalling that low-life governor but the state still has a full demon majority hell bent on destroying that once beautiful and livable state. Way too many transplants from other countries who are apparently okay with socialism so they can all live in misery together.

I guess it will just have to run its course until it finally collapses. God help all the states where all those socialists run to after that. Gotta be 30 million of them... That’s what happens when you allow illegals in to take over the state. That’s what happens when the anchor baby loophole isn’t fixed.

Fixing roads etc is tangible. Create another outlet project to divert the gas taxes is likely just another scam for politicians to pad their own pockets with kickbacks. If the people can’t see it, then it doesn’t really exist. You know, like those in DC “the Bidens” who get stinking rich by scamming the people. Maybe a public hanging of a few criminal politicians ”Newsom” might exact a needed change!

I had hopes that, after Gov. Brown left office, the folks
in California would wake up and elect a new governor who actually CARED about his people and his state. I’m sorry this wasn’t the case.
