Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Wednesday declared that if the Democrat-led House votes to impeach President Donald Trump, then the Senate will hold an impeachment trial.
"Under the impeachment rules of the Senate, we'll take the matter up. The chief justice will be in the chair," the top Republican said, noting that the chamber will be expected to convene on most days during the impeachment trial. "We intend to do our constitutional responsibility."
"Senators will not be allowed to speak, which will be good therapy for a number of them," he added.

The fact Mitch wants the trial done before party primaries makes me suspicious. Does he want to leave time for candidates to get in the race after Trump has been ousted?
McConnell makes the rash assumption that Schiff-for-brains and Pug-ugly will actually vote articles of impeachment anytime in the next 6 months.
They will be “investigating” in secret, of course, until the cows come home. Anything to keep the “Trump Scandal” on the front page of the Lame Stream Media.

Republicans should consider impeaching every future democrat that ends up in the white house. Two can play the impeachment game.

I agree with your cynical take and why not? Despite talk, we Trump supporters have done nothing but shake our fist in the air. We need young leadership to rally the troops and show visible support for DJT.
How in the world can you pre-guess that? Wouldn’t that depend on the charges and the defense the President put on? What a rediculas statement. Makes a mockery of the entire process.

McConnell doesn’t seem to realize that we have never ending impeachment of Republicans now. It’s been at least 45 years, each time a Republican is elected.
Christmas is closer than McConnell realizes. It’s just over two months away. And all Thanksgiving week will be time off. And wrapping it up before Christmas sounds like a one-day trial at this point.

Let Pelousy, Chuck-U Schumer and Pencilneck do their worst. Trump has his rallies where he connects with the grass roots and gets out the word about anything he wants. And the Rats can’t do anything about it. He can do two or three a week. He’ll drown out any crap they spread.
