me too!!..lol..ive watching the ending like 10 times!!...awesome
I intended to see it, but it disappeared from my town really fast, apparently for lack of interest. Guess I’ll have to get the DVD.
Must see, as I was invited to that party by my bf, a friend of Jay Sebring’s. Felt like like someone had kicked me in the stomach, and I shouted NO. Jay died that night, we didn’t. Long story short, I never saw your neighborhood, which I understand is very nice.
Veto!

In real life or the QT movie?

Piracy is something the entertainment industry has never understood. In this case, once word gets out then Tarantino’s entire legal/illegal catalog is going to be a hot property in China.
The middle class will want pirated copies. The upper middle class will want good quality copies. And the wealthy will see getting a smuggled production copy, maybe with Chinese subs and even dubs, as a prestige item.
It might come through Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, or who knows. If the money is there, love will find a way.
I saw Once Upon a Time in Hollywood in the theater with my best friend and movie going buddy. It isnt the type of movie she or I would typically go see and I dont recall what else was playing but nothing looked remotely interesting save Yesterday but I had already seen it a week earlier.
I liked it more, a lot more than I thought I would. The violence didnt come until the end and in truth, although a complete fantasy, it would have been nice to see those Manson monsters get it like they did in the movie in real life.
The one thing I liked about it was how TV and radio ads from the era were woven in, that and the clothing. But I also thought it was a bit long and dragged in parts. I also thought the scene where Sharon Tate goes to the movie theater, alone, to watch the new movie she was in was too long and a bit unnecessary and it was strange to see the real Sharon Tate on the movie screen as it highlighted how Margot Robbie doesnt really look like Tate, although she IMO did a good job in the role.
But I did like the little girl actress (sorry actor) who was so wise beyond her years. That was a hoot.
Wow!! Lucky you. And they had firearms in the house that night but no one knew how to use one anyway.
Musso and Franks is a 5 minute walk from me - never been there.
Didn’t know they had firearms. I learned to shoot when I was a teenager at a summer camp in Northern Wisconsin. Riflery was a class, along with canoeing, archery, all the usual fun stuff. And my bf had been in the army, stationed in Europe. I’ve often wondered what would have happened had we been there. And some of the other people who were invited and didn’t go.

Just for fun I checked. The cam version, that is someone sneaking a camera into the theater, is online now.
The DVD release is in November so that will be available online about 2 days later.
Or with a VPN they can stream it from Amazon in a few weeks.
Yes, I agree with you. I like Tarantino’s ending much, much better than history’s!
He really recreated the era very well, and Pitt and DeCaprio were both very good. I liked Brad Pitt, his default position was loyal and brave. (I get it that people have an issue with how Bruce Lee was portrayed, but I myself can’t get too worked up on that issue.) That little girl was good too, she managed not to be totally annoying!

The Sharon Tate part at the movie I thought was fine. Especially her having to explain about Valley of the Dolls.
The part that seemed most extraneous to me was the climbing on the roof without a shirt to fix the antennae. It just didn’t seem to have a point.
OK, Quentin, good on ya for telling the ChiComs where to fold it and hold it. Now, about that Tarantino Star Trek pitch the studio bigs had you working on..........
Yes, he’s a big lib like everyone in Hollywood. But, in my opinion, he’s made some great films. His dialog scenes are without peer. I’m glad he stood up to the Commies.
In the movie.
And Bruce Lee has appeared retroactively in movies in Hong Kong long since his death.
If the family is appealing to Chi-Com censors to protect his image, screw them.
I wish I had known to fast forward and watch Brad Pit doing brilliant comedy for about the final 15 minutes and skip the rest. It WAS NOT worth the cost of the time it took to watch.
