Guess it’s ok to accidentally break the law.
But officer, I accidentally ran that stop sign. I didn’t intentionally run that stop sign.
I was a city/state/federal LEO for nearly 3 decades & (while I’m NOT an attorney,) I know that being GUILTY of a crime REQUIRES a “criminal intent” to commit a particular crime.
(ONLY DWI & DUID, in the USA, are “General Intent” offenses.)
This case was a GROSS miscarriage of justice, as the young sailor had NO intent to commit a crime.
(President Trump SHOULD pardon him & “restore him to USN duty”, ImVho.)

Guess its ok to accidentally break the law.

For Democrats that is certainly true.
Guess its ok to accidentally break the law.

That’s the new standard, at least for Democrats. But imagine if any Republican or someone in the Trump administration did this. There would be outcries of risks to national security and calls for punishment.
Corruption and destructive partisanship are deeply embedded in our government. The people will have an opportunity to vote to remove it in 2020.
