I survived the Great Polar Vortex of 2019 when the temp was -27 and the wind chill was -74 earlier this year.
I live in the far Southwest Suburbs of Shitcago. Those are NOT normal temp's for us. I woke up to a house that was down to 50 degrees and a furnace that decided to quit in the middle of all of that.

Our hottest day of the year was in mid-JUNE, when it got to 88*. There was still a Degree Day of 1.71C for the 24 hour period.
Most summer days have a negative DD. It’s been a COLD summer on the west coast.
