Yes, it is. It not only gives a viewer an idea how these clandestine operations work, but shows the internal struggles the operators have. I would love to know how realistic it is, but don't want anyone on this board to tell me and make it public.
I had some inter-action with SEAL's in my Navy days and they wouldn't say a word about their missions. Other Spec Ops guys like Delta are the same. They are America's un-acknowledged and un-rewarded spearhead against the monsters of civilization. I love them all.
A friend from school in SF wanted desperately to be a Navy Seal, as he had come from a Navy family. He was out swimming miles in San Francisco Bay winter and summer, freezing water all year ‘round. He was rejected because his eyesight wasn’t perfect. Nearly was, but NOT perfect. He was very tall and extremely thin, and those long muscles were amazingly strong. Plus he was very smart.
I guess SEALS require perfection, as well they should.
