From everything I’ve read and heard, he is not a whistleblower. Only the dems are calling him/her/it that after they changed the form.
He/her/it does not have first hand knowledge of anything. The transcript is the most reliable source.
I strongly suggest you and everyone read the transcript. It don’t take that long.
