Hastings, 83, has employed a disbarred lawyer, Patricia Williams, on his congressional staff since at least 2000. She has been paid nearly $3 million in taxpayer-funded salary since that time,” the outlet reported Thursday.

“Property records show Williams and Hastings bought a $700,000 house together near Boynton Beach in 2017.”

But as horrific as this sounds, it’s not the worst of the congressman’s antics. Prior to joining Congress in 2013, Alcee Hastings worked for ten years as a district judge – up until he was impeached from office in 1989 for having accepted a $150,000 bribe.

Here’s the kicker: The attorney who represented him during the impeachment hearings was Williams, i.e., his current alleged girlfriend.

Rep. Alcee Hastings Accused of Violating House Rule With Congressional Staff Relationship

https://www.theepochtimes.com/rep-alcee-hastings-accused-of-violating-house-rule-with-congressional-staff-relationship_3134323.html

Williams is currently the highest paid member of Palm Beach County’s congressional delegation, paid on equivalent $168,412 per year, according to LegiStorm records.

Congresswoman Barbara Comstock (R-Va.), a long-time supporter of the House rule, told the news outlet Hastings’s relationship with Williams violates the resolution.

“His flouting of the rules is legendary,” she said. “This is open and shut. He is in violation.”

So why did the Palm Beach Post run this story at this time...?

Comstock told the Palm Beach Post she does not know why the congressman hasn’t been investigated, and hinted that certain members of Congress are not called out for their behavior.

“There is a sense that there are people who get away with it and people who don’t,” she said.

When questioned by the news outlet whether it was appropriate to investigate Hill, but not probe Hastings, Deutch refused to comment.

It’s not clear whether there’s ever before in American history been a case of a congressman and his staffer purchasing a home together.

Democrats need to come into the court with clean hands. But they stand guilty of everything they’ve imputed to Trump and more.

Railroading him won’t cure the fact this so-called impeachment is devoid of both credibility and legitimacy.

Let the Democrats choke on it.

In 2011, Hastings was also sued for sexual harassment by a woman, Winsome Packer, who was hired as a policy adviser for the congressman when he chaired the Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe in May 2007.

Hastings denied the accusations. The case was dismissed, and Packer was awarded a $220,000 secret settlement by the congressional Office of Compliance.

He’s a Democrat. They’re above the rules and and they’re brazen hypocrites.

We knew that already.

Oh my, and we know how Dems took such an issue involving Spiro Agnew very seriously. But no laws for their own, I gather.

Impeached as a judge for taking bribes, then 23 years in Congress.

But we should let these scum cause us any worry about a president’s phone call?

And he’s writing the impeachment rules!

It appears that the Trump Campaign investigators are doing their job by going on the offense.

Now it’s time to plaster the media with the facts.

In 1988, the Democratic-controlled United States House of Representatives took up the case, and Judge Hastings was impeached for bribery and perjury by a vote of 413–3.
