The talking heads on KY Public TV are admitting that emphasizing a pro-life position is helping Bevin and the entire Republican ticket in KY because of Dems in the western part of the state who don’t subscribe to the national party’s extremist position.
Contrast Bevin and the KY Republicans with the national party who want to ignore the issue except in fund-raising appeals.
Theres no love lost for the national party which is out of touch with KY values.
Andy Beshear being endorsed by NARAL damaged him and it was heavily publicized in radio ads across the state by conservative groups. We will see if it damaged him enough.
Rural Dems in *all* of Kentucky, east, west and central, are abandoning the national party in droves, in actual voting if not in voter registration although the trend there is to the right as well.
As of the 2018 election the Rats still had about an 8% registration edge statewide. Aside from the Louisville ghetto and the snowflake village of Lexington, the next most likely bastions of Rat votes would be from the soccer mommies and pussy whipped soccer daddies in the Cincy suburbs (Boone, Campbell & Kenton counties) but I doubt there’s enough of a swing to the left in that area to put them over the top — unless a lot of good people stayed home today instead of voting Bevin and the entire R ticket.
CNN has Bevin increasing margin 53 / 45 with 1/3rd counted. Early Louisville votes also were encouraging....2 to 1 Bevin.....mail in early votes or absentee ? Encouraging none-the less.
