A push by President Trump and conservatives to dig into Hunter Biden’s work in Ukraine is running into stumbling blocks from an unusual corner: congressional Republicans.
Some Republicans believe Trump’s impeachment trial or a separate Senate committee inquiry could lay the groundwork for investigating former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, who have both emerged as a fixation for Trump and his top allies as they look for a foothold in the impeachment battle.
Trump escalated the effort on Thursday when he tweeted that the Bidens “must testify” — raising the specter that the president’s lawyers or GOP senators could try to drag them into the public impeachment trial.
“What did Hunter Biden do for the money?” @SenJohnKennedy A very good question. He and Sleepy Joe must testify!” Trump tweeted.
But a push to focus on the Bidens as part of an impeachment trial quickly received a cool reception from Republicans on Capitol Hill.
“His lawyers, I presume, can ask for any witnesses they want. But I think we ought to keep focus on the articles of impeachment and not go down any rabbit trails,” said Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) told The Hill.
Asked about Trump floating that the Bidens should testify, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said he didn’t understand it as a "defense to the president.” “We’ll make that decision, not the president,” Graham added.

Any Republicans involved in trying to keep the lid on the Biden scam is probably doing so to keep the investigation from exposing them.

The United States Congress is today the most corrupt institution in our history. It is the Augean Stables of America. It needs to be totally cleared out and replaced as an institution, like so much of the current tyrannical government afflicting this country.
They made themselves multi-millionaires - almost every last one of them - off of our labor, selling us out for their personal wealth and aggrandizement. Laughing at us thinking we were choosing our own government! The revolution is needed...now.

Most of them I believe. Biden is 45 years on the Capitol. He is family and except for a very few Rand Pauls the GOP Senators have no interest in skewering one of their own. OTOH if as much stuff was found about Barky and his 8 years I believe they would jump all over it. Barky was never family.

There’s no doubt. The feeding grounds were fertile in Ukraine and not only for aid but for the kickbacks to the well-connected.
Hunter Biden, John Kerry’s kid even a relative of Whitey Bulger were all in on the action. It absolutely does not end there.
President Trump knows all this and wants to decimate the enemy for their gall in attacking him on Ukraine. The Pubbies just want it nice, narrow and clean.
