Apparently the Dems are tying to do the same thing with Ukraine.

The regular people of Russia won against the Huns. Celebrate them, not the Soviets.

Soviet Union did win the war in Europe.

The USSR lost more people at Leningrad than all the American losses and casualties in Europe

The USA had about 400,000 military dead.

England about the same, along with 450,000 civilians.

The Soviets had about 10,000,000 or more military dead, and even more than that in civilian deaths. That is a lot of blood. Of course before and after the war, Stalin killed more than that with his various purges and starvation programs.

How many of those 10 million were shot by Kommisars killing soldiers trying to retreat?

I always thought the USA lost 600,000 in WWII.

I say, go for it. Stalin was evil and so was communism. Stalin
was fine with Hitler until Hitler turned on him...and then Russia lost millions of people in the war. But the invitation is a gesture to remember a common fight against a common enemy. And Russia isn’t Communist anymore.

Personally, I think that Russia wants to have better relations with the US because they’re scared of China. The USSR helped to create the monster but modern Russia is beginning to realize it could turn on them. Trump has at least gotten China to back down a bit (although of course the Dems love Communist China).

Never put anything on your head as it will come back to bite you in the media

memes. Also, don’t eat or drink in public. Obama had a lot of those that were not

ramped up enough.

Could be - I just saw the numbers on the net - but from the ww2museum website. Said 416,800 military and about 2,000 civilians. Not sure if our territories (Puerto Rico, etc.) are included in that number - but they wouldn’t add another 200,000.

This is one of my fave funny commercials of all time. The guy reminds me of Putin for some reason. And the mini giraffe is a hoot.

“Soviet Union won that war. Just ask Churchill.”

Valid point.

I don’t recall Major Hochstetter ever threatening to send Klink to France.

And they ended up with Poland, the protection of which was ostensibly what brought Britain and France into the war in the first place.

Why did Britain and France declare war on Germany in the first place? Do you know?

"The Soviets and Germans STARTED WW2 by plotting to divide up Poland."

Very true and there wouldn't likely be a WW2 if Russia didn't help Germany. Finland is still screwed up because of Russia entering as the Axis powers. I'm fairly sure the Russians today sees that was a major mistake

Don’t go to Moscow; go to Stalingrad (now known as Volgograd). When the Soviets defeated Paulus and the German Sixth Army at Stalingrad that was the turning point in the war in the east. After that loss, the Germans were forever on the defensive.

We finished off the Germans, but Britain and USSR had been fighting them for years already by the time we got into it.

That’s true — and look who ended up with Poland at war’s end. Hence— the USSR won the war.
