What I thought of when I heard the testimony live yesterday was, wait, so Sondland called Trump from his cell phone in a coffee shop or I think Taylor said a restaurant, and one of Taylor’s staff could hear President Trump during the call. Two thoughts, 1. Sondland calls POTUS from his cell phone and bam, he’s on the phone with him just like that? 2. Did Sondland put POTUS on speaker, while Sondland and Taylor’s aide were at a restaurant/coffee shop?
All quite fishy, imo.
I think there was some speculation that President Trump is still being wiretapped.
Scenario #1) “I know what the President said on the phone because I wiretapped him.” — this doesn’t sound good (it’s illegal).
Scenario #2 “I know what the President said on the phone because … uhhhhhh … I was in the coffee shop and … uhhhhh … Sondlund called the President and … ahhhhh … put him on speaker and … uhhhhhh … I heard every word. Yeah. That’s it. That’s how it happened.”
