A bit off-topic, but I think “punitive damages” in civil cases are a disaster. They have the effect of a post-facto law, with no bound on its punishment, designed specifically for one person. How can that be any part of a fair and just legal system?
SF Judge SF jury. Moving up the chain lands it at the still rat dominated 9th circus. I will be shocked if the SC takes it. Could the defense have asked for a venue change?
