There's an easy fix to this "democRATS screw up everything they get their hands on" in California.

Anybody who drives their own rig and pays their own bills as an owner/operator, just don't drive in California anymore. Drive your truck anywhere else where they treat you with respect instead of like some kind of lackey.

It won't take very long at all before someone with more than a peabrain in their heads in the state legislature, changes the law so people can work for themselves again.

**It is also easier to control 3 truck companies that 1,000 independents.**

Yeah, that’s why they hate small farmers, and small business in general.

My son is a employed driver. He starts a new job next week at about $40,000.

He and I were speaking once with an owner operator who had a newer Kenworth. His truck payments were $1500 per week. Plus fuel, insurance, maintenance, health care etc.

great idea...

drop everything at the border, then ride into san francisco and take a dump on the sidewalk.

Don’t forget DOT and don’t forget that California has an emissions law for your truck

and emission's laws for reefer engines

Play California’s own games back at them.

That was my thought too but so much comes from overseas through CA ports. I can see truckers in CA driving regional routes to some kind of hub like Las Vegas or Phoenix to drop off a trailer full or a load then hook up to an empty trailer for the trip back to do it all over again the next day.

Truckers hate driving in CA anyway due to the 55 mph limit for anything with 3 axles or more. Granted, the lower speed limit isn't enforced, they usually go 65-70, but still; they are taking a risk and a ticket on a truckers license is a lot bigger deal than on someone without a class A license. Most people just have a class C.

seems like owner-operators simply base themselves in another state ... don’t see how they can then be held to california law for interstate trips ... as far as intrastate trips go, california can then pretty much go pound sand as the shortage of shipping brings commerce to a halt ...

Maybe truckers ought to try a boycott of California and see if they have any power to change the liberals in Sacramento.

Truckers have a lot of power en masse. Individually, not so much.

Just a thought.

California is like one big abscessed boil on the butt of America.
