I have taken (well I never did) to not mention the ‘holiday’ but these days when one says Happy Holidays in the CHRISTMAS season, I remind them it is Christmas, and dependent on how large the ‘crowd’ is regulates how LOUD I ‘admonish’ the clerk. (I know they are probably directed to say it but they don’t have to say anything do they?)
