Tee hee hee!
But are they Socialist (Red) Blue?
But are they Socialist (Red) Blue Dems?
I think that was the Congressional map, not state legislative map??
Anyway, the whole Scranton area has become so well associated with stupidity that it is the reason it became the scene of the television series The Office.
On the bright side, it is close enough to New York that you can overnight there for a normal price and catch an early morning shuttle into the city for business, then get back before it is too late.
Casey, Jr. is so dependent on his handlers, I don't think he could hold office without them. He is basically an empty suit who doesn't even make campaign appearances to anything other than prescreened audiences. Has anyone ever actually had an intelligent two-way conversation with him?
Why is this news? We all know that politicians brading themselves as “independent” always vote with Rats.
This may be the first of more than a few...The DIM congressman in NJ may be next.
Luzerne includes Wilkes-Barre and Hazleton.
Lackawanna County includes Scranton.
Yudichak is the 2nd most “conservative” Democrat in the PA State Senate (at least as of 2018) behind Lisa Boscola. Got a 42% Conservative rating in 2018 and 37% lifetime rating from the ACU. Trump district. Hasn’t elected a Republican from this district in 50 years.
Not likely. Jeff Van Drew would still have to caucus with one party or the other. If he becomes an Independent and still caucuses with the Dems, he’s still really a Dem, and such a switch would be useless. If he decided to caucus with the GOP, they’d likely require him to make a full switch. He wouldn’t survive a primary, though, because his voting record has been very left-wing. He’s more concerned because his State Senate seat he vacated in January just elected a Republican to it in a landslide this month.
You’re right, it was the Congressional map that was re-drawn.
That’s the weird thing about ACU ratings, as they prioritize different things than you or I might.
Boscola was rated 100% by Planned Parenthood (50% from NARAL) and 80% from the NRA.
Yudichak only got a 50% from Planned Parenthood (0% from NARAL) and an 87% from the NRA.
By those metrics, Yudichak is more conservative (by a mile) on abortion and slightly more conservative on gun rights.
Thanks for pointing that out.
Luzerne County is the Wilkes-Barre area, so I guess Democrats talking about a Green New Deal in the coal region will not be a winning way.
#Walkaway is spreading to Democrats in office!
Thus sayeth goldstategop “Luzerne is blue collar Democrat. A bellwether PA county. Includes Scranton and its rural hinterland.”
While I reside in Carbon County, this goofball Yudichak is my state senator. While the area is the old eastern coal fields and there are lots o’ shutdown factories, in Carbon there are more registered Republicans than Democrats. The election last week was a good day for Republicans.
It is true that Scranton is majority Democrat the outlying areas are quite Red and I see no let-up in the support for Trump. By the way, Yuichak’s Chief of Staff, Bill Richards, ran for and was soundly defeated for Carbon County Commissioner.
This is INCREDIBLY good news, coming after the tragedy of learning that Sen. Mike Folmer is into child porn. Folmer was a star, right on every issue, articulate, and a great leader, but he held a sick secret.
I met the man several times, and he was dynamo regarded as one of our very best. So sad. Esp. in light of having a Communist governor.
A trickle that warns of a flood?
Question to anyone: Is there a reason that Morrison and Volker couldn’t have been questioned tomorrow rather over 10 almost constant hours?
