Man detained for eating sandwich at Bay Area Rapid Transit station intends to sue
The man busted for eating a sandwich at a BART station last week has taken a first step toward suing the transit agency, CBS San Francisco reports. In a news conference Thursday afternoon, Bay Area civil rights attorney John Burris announced he had filed a claim against BART on behalf of Steven Foster.
Foster was taken into custody for eating a breakfast sandwich on a platform at the Pleasant Hill station on the morning of November 4th.
“This case smacks of racial profiling and selective law enforcement,” Burris said during the news conference.
“Williams intervened when a shoeless man tried to steal shoes from another man, authorities said. The suspect, 39-year-old Jermaine Jeremiah Brim, of San Francisco, allegedly took Williams knife during a struggle and stabbed him to death with his own weapon. Brim was booked Tuesday on suspicion of first-degree murder and carjacking.”

No good deed goes unpunished . . . ?
Yep.
knife -> sword -> spear -> arrow -> bullet
Sadly, heroes, and good samaritans, are not bullet (or knife) proof.
Terrible idea to intervene in a fight between 2 unarmed men with a knife. There was no good outcome if the bad guy was willing to fight. Either this guy was going to jail for stabbing Brim, or he was going to be stabbed himself.
A good reason to avoid BART altogether
