The crux of the problem is this... The Democrats have been preaching impeachment for years. That’s why their base demanded it. Nancy held off as long as she could and likely would have forgone this circus altogether if she could have, but when they discovered Trump was encouraging and even demanding that the Ukrainians investigate the Biden’s and their ties to the Ukraine, Nancy had no other choice.
This circus will likely result in a very weak recommendation for impeachment that won’t meet the smell test in the Senate and likely will pass with many House Dems voting against it... But the essential purpose of this fiasco is stop the Ukrainians from investigating the Biden’s. In the end, he’s their likeliest candidate and they can’t have another candidate under investigation running against Trump. Look how that worked out for Hillary.
Now Biden will be able to run against Trump and claim that he’s innocent because their will be no investigation as long as this impeachment nonsense continues on and after the election starts, the Ukrainians wouldn’t dare to investigate Biden.
The longer this does go on the better it is for Trump. The nonsense of this Witch hunt has already been established and those who voted and supported Trump will continue to do so and those who didn’t will not. The anti-Trumper Republicans hope for resignation??? That will NEVER happen.
In the end Trump will be the nominee and Biden better be the Democrat nominee because if isn’t, then the Ukrainians can investigate him freely and it would be rather useful for Trump if he ends up running against a wannabe who’s main battle cry is ‘Trump was impeached’ and the reason he was impeached turns out to be he wanted an investigation that obviously should have taken place and results in charges against Biden’s son.
Their forte is getting out the vote. We have to do the same.
I don’t believe that the assumption that because Slow Creepy Uncle Joe is running for President he can’t be investigated is true.

The great thing about this very expensive goofiness is the way it has pulled Republican voters together. This time around, President Trump can count on at somewhere in the neighborhood of 90% of registered Republicans turning out for him. We’ll crawl over cut glass.
And because Trump is Trump, there will be a *lot* of protection around this election that you won’t see or even know about. (Yeah, it’ll be the Russian mafia).
The other bright spot is that ScatFranNan’s imbeciles have left themselves with absolutely nothing to run on. There will be no impeachment and removal. America doesn’t want that. They love the economy. Dems have gotten *nothing* done.

I have wondered for months why Barr didn’t appoint a special prosecutor (”SP”) for the quid-pro-quo-red-eye-gaffe-prone Joe Biden-Ukrainian affair. This would have shielded POTUS and helped the country immensely. In addition boxed in fanatically demokraps who couldn’t interfere in an ongoing investigation and who would be forced to now attack the “out of control” office of the SP that they sanctimoniously defended for the past 2 yrs during their Mueller hoax). POTUS would be free, hands off - let the cards fall where they may except he would not criticize the SP, and remind everyione that he agrees with Peloser w/ regards that no one is above the law ... not even Joe Biden.
The glitch in your scenario (IMO) is Pelosi and the DNC have no say in what the President of Ukraine does or doesn’t do. If Trump wants him to investigate he will because as Sondland testified yesterday, Zelinski loves Trump. I’m pretty sure it is being done now because the Bidens really did extort over $13 million from the Ukranian people.

The Ukrainian Office of the Prosecutor General has drawn up an indictment against the owner of the Burisma Holdings energy company, ex-Ecology Minister Nikolai Zlochevsky, that contains information that the son of former US Vice President Joe Biden, Hunter, as a Burisma board member along with his partners received $16.5 million for their services, Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada MP from the ruling Servant of the People party Alexander Dubinsky told a press conference on Wednesday, citing the investigation’s materials. According to him, the money came from duplicitous criminal activity.
“Zlochevsky was charged with this new accusation by the Office of the Prosecutor General but the press ignored it,” the MP said. “It was issued on November 14.”
The U.S. press is ignoring this as well. Of course.
