We are rapidly heading towards the surveillance state, which has been enabled by technology and AI. The Dems and their allies in Deep State will lead us into an Orwellian world ala 1984.
One other options is to limit the number of bureaucrats employed. But this too is not a viable option. As these people age they become sclerotic and most of them will not be able to change with the times.
Best bet - eliminate the bureaucrats and use the Military and rotate the postings

Is that just calculating the change in minority voting? Because I am confident the independent and Republican abstainers will swing to Trump in a big way. Add the likely factor of Spygate/Ukraine massively blowing up on the Dems and DJT could pull off the most lopsided victory in a Presidential election since Nixon ‘72.

IE: 95% base support unheard of, blazing hot economy and strong giddy personal positive outlook, continued victory over ISIS, troop withdrawal from Middle East and Korea, and maybe the biggest factor of all is the likelihood that Trump’s opponent will be saddled with an extreme leftist platform. Elements like free healthcare for illegals and the green energy plan poll at less than 20% with likely voters.

They are "by party" primaries or caucuses. Then the RATs and "independents" elect the likes of Snowe and Collins.

I hear you. I lived in Warsaw for two years, 1981-83 during the days of Solidarnosc’ and martial law. Widespread rationing of foodstuffs. Long lines to get the basic necessities. Secret police.
We are losing our civil liberties with the cooperation of our educational system. Free speech is no longer protected and we have come up with Orwellian language like hate speech and safe spaces to stifle free expression. The DOJ and FBI have lost their way. We had an attempted coup and the President was spied on formally by the FBI and CIA thru a FISA warrant for the first nine months in office and informally ever since. Still no consequences for the perpetrators.
