I have trouble believing it, but I’ve heard from people who know Jerrold Nadler personally that he actually is opposed to the impeachment but has been playing his part to keep in favor with House dem leadership. His would be a powerful knife into Schiff.
Those around him can resign on principal but these people live for politics. Nancy’s old enough to do a profile in courage but she’d rather take the risk and oversee her party destroyed.

It was either Schiff or Nadler — and it wasn’t going to be Nadler. So Schiff is the fall-guy and he’s evidently to stupid to know that Nancy has set him up.
