For some things, if you wipe away absolutely all the dirt, there’s nothing left.

The ability to test, authenticate, and reproduce scientific findings is vital for the integrity of the rule-making process

Could it be that Wheeler found a legal or scientific defect in his predecessor’s version — one that would have caused problems in court — and decided to start over?

EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler should be on the curb, with his office stuff in a cardboard box. Check to see if he stole the stapler and the desk lamp...

I suspect the EPA has been quite the kickback machine as follows:

Pick a chemical, such as NaCl.

Have one million dollar budget to study it.

Award the contract to your friends.

Pajama boy types an official looking report saying how dangerous it is. Takes about an hour. Note, no actual lab analysis is performed.

Chemical is sorely restricted if not banned outright.

Repeat.

I’m still ticked that Trump allowed the deep state to take Pruitt with a bunch of chicken sh*t charges. He was well on the way to fixing the EPA. We ended up with a spineless replacement.

Maybe this will make the FR Doom and Gloomers feel better:

10 Ways Andrew Wheeler Has Decimated EPA Protections in Just One Year

Elliott Negin, senior writer | July 15, 2019, 9:30 am EST

On July 8, President Trump hosted a White House event to unabashedly tout his truly abysmal environmental record. The next day, coincidentally, marked the one-year anniversary of Andrew Wheeler at the helm of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), first as acting administrator and then as administrator after the Senate confirmed him in late February.

The good news, if there is any, is that Wheeler is an Eagle Scout compared to his ethically challenged predecessor, Scott Pruitt. The bad news is, as predicted, Wheeler has been more effective than Pruitt in rolling back and eliminating EPA safeguards.

My organization, the Union of Concerned Scientists, has compiled a list of 80 Trump administration attacks on science since taking office, and Wheeler has been the driving force behind many of them. Below are 10 of the more egregious ways he has undermined the EPA’s time-honored role to protect public health and the environment so far.

Re: Time for DJT to clean up the EPA.

LOL.

Former EPA Director Scott Pruitt was the only consequential Conservative in the Trump Administration.

When the MSM, Deep State, and the Democrat Party decided to destroy Pruitt, Trump did not raise a finger to stop them.

Start with Michael Mann and his bogus tree ring study, and that he refused to show his data in court in a lawsuit which he initiated against someone who supposedly libeled him. If Mann had produced his data he could have proved the man a liar, but he did not, and lost his case. He is a fraud. A so-called scientist cannot say the world is ending and cause widespread panic and suicides, and then refuse to provide the data which is the foundation for the claim. It is unethical. It also means it cannot stand up against scrutiny.

It is all PR and not real science.

The EPA uses this hidden secret evidence crap to declare CO2 a pollutant when it is in fact plant food.

I cannot even believe they can change federal regulations to the public without allowing the data to be questioned by opposing experts. This is the Soviet model of science, meaning it is dictated by the Democrat Party. I see Stalin in more of their actions every day.

Trump cannot let this continue.
