I know there’s lots of in-betweens. I’m just sick of us feeling that it’s our responsibility to have our hands all over the world, and to police so much of it. We have soldiers in almost every country in the world. Why?

Because we want to maintain our status as the most powerful nation on earth, and to that end, we better be on top of everything. The more powerful we are, the more vigilant well have to be; though I agree we should reevaluate all our foreign deployments periodically.
And foreign intervention does not always have to be a military one, sometimes a phone call is all it takes. The President last week told us if not for him, Hong Kong would have been obliterated in 14 minutes. Apparently, a bloody crackdown was planned but was averted with a phone call. (That the CCP was basically mute after the Presidents revelation tells us the whole thing must be true.)
