Nixon's "ping pong" diplomacy was done from weakness and inflicted long lasting damage to the industrial strength of America. I am not against the Chinese strengthening their industry, but I am not for America unilaterally de-industrializing. Meanwhile, the media with Tom Brokaw were cheerleaders for the wonderful "information age" or the "post industrial society". Never made any sense.
