Say what you think.
And get fired.
Evergreen State College needs to be renamed EverRED!
We need to accreditation organizations for colleges and then build new colleges where kids can actually go and learn. It’s sad that kids are not prepared for the future due to political correctness.
And make sure the tuition is affordable, where every kid can graduate with little to no debt.
A solid review.
I have told younger generations that, when I was in college back in the 70s, people were free to espouse any worldview or philosophy they wanted as long as they weren’t violent about it and we students were allowed to ask questions, challenge premises and point out disagreements that helped to sharpen our minds and help us to grow as independent thinkers.
The famed atheist leader Madelyn Murray O’Hair used to come to our campus and spout profane drivel from the basement of our dormitory and many came to listen and many came to challenge her beliefs. As a new Christian, I wanted to hear the “other side of the story” because I was on a quest for truth, not identity. I was willing to let her sling arrows at my faith because doing so, if I could refute them, solidified my faith and sharpened my ability to make counter-arguments.
Sadly, today’s campuses are all about groupthink and anyone who challenges the common mantras are beaten, bullied and expelled from the public square. In my mind, such actions are done because the censors are so afraid of having their beliefs exposed as hypocritical or wrong that they have to expunge anyone who doesn’t march in goosestep with them. They are interested in identity, not truth.
This is the sort of thing that allows, for example, climate “experts” to venture from their mansions to hop on private jets to lecture the rest of us on the need to reduce our fuel consumption. Point out their obvious hypocrisy and you are branded a “hater” or “denier” and silenced.
Yep, and get sued.
John Kass is a bit of an ass.
