Last time I looked a butterfly can fly over a wall!
Or between the individual bollards, the butterflies I have around here fly through the 2”x 4” mesh wire I use to keep the deer out of the gardens.
Pretty aerodynamic little suckers, from the little bitty grey ones to the great big Monarchs and Swallowtails
