Given the unsupported claims President Donald Trump has made for two years about the FBI’s Russia investigation - calling it a witch hunt cooked up by his political opponents - the conclusion by the Justice Department watchdog that the probe was justified was big news.
But the other major findings of the inspector general's report - that there were serious problems with the way the FBI obtained a secret national security warrant to spy on a Trump campaign aide - were also noteworthy, if somewhat overshadowed by the bigger headlines.
The report found an FBI process so badly managed, so rife with errors, that the bureau's director immediately issued a statement saying he was already implementing reforms.
Some FBI personnel “did not comply with existing policies, neglected to exercise appropriate diligence, or otherwise failed to meet the standard of conduct that the FBI expects of its employees - and that our country expects of the FBI,” Director Christopher Wray said in a statement.
The IG report said the FBI relied heavily on a dossier compiled as part of a Democratic-funded opposition research campaign by a former British spy, Christopher Steele, while failing to inform the court that questions had arisen about Steele’s credibility.
The report said responsibility for the failures extends high up the FBI’s management chain.
The FBI director for much of the period in question, James Comey, focused his public comments mainly on the IG’s debunking of Trump conspiracy theories, some of which were aimed at him.
He said little about what the IG portrayed as a significant failure on his watch.
“The report found lots of mistakes - that’s really significant and really unfortunate,” Comey said on MSNBC. “But that’s why you do IG reports.”

FBI agents who made false statements in the FISA process, regardless of whether they are still with the FBI, need to be put through the EXACT same treatment that General Flynn endured.
No it shows it was abused by the Obama regime for political reasons. Don’t try to blame the system Democrat Propaganda bots at NBC for the criminal wrong doing by your god and his minions.
Interesting facts: FISA Court judges are all chosen by the Chief Justice of SCOTUS, without Congressional review or approval. They must be chosen from at least 7 different Federal Judicial Circuit Courts.
All 11 present FISA-court judges have been appointed by Chief Justice John Roberts.

Hussein personally abused Executive power - possibly criminally. This is why democrats, republicans, the courts, the media, the deep state, everyone is afraid to hold the guilty accountable. Except, perhaps, Barr and Durham.
The Judge acts on information presented. The report specifically stated they concealed the flimsiness of the evidence and suppressed exculpatory evidence.
They are trying to obfuscate criminal wrong doing by the Obama regime by blaming the system
All 17 "serious problems" were not committed in a vacuumn.
FBI agents of every rank CONSPIRED to commit fraud and perjury ... WHICH ARE FELONIES ON A FEDERAL LEVEL and ....
If comey can find no intent to commit a crime by hillart in all the testimony she gave, WE CAN damned sure FIND intent (all thought processes are polarized) and indict every FBI agent involved with those 17 "serious problems"
Either the entire FBI is a bunch of stupid bumbling Keystone Cops (which is the IG’s conclusion) or there was a small group of crooked cops at the top were engaged in an attempted coup.
There is no other explanation.

Why hasn’t Chief Justice Roberts acted to clean up this mess? Oh, I forgot. He’s just another pretty face.
