The strange thing is outside of a few campaign posters you really wouldn’t know there was an election going on. Just my observation.
This is the first December general election in 100 years.
IIRC on election night in 2016 in NYC or at least Times Square once it became apparent Trump had won the scene was quite muted. I think the nets were hoping for a New Years Eve scene if Hillary had won but well we know what happened. It was strangely quiet that night in NYC. Oh a bit of sobbing at the Javits Center of course.
