Vigilance in the extreme is obviously required and here is why at a simplistic level. We’ve been repeatedly told that the impeachment will never make it past the Senate. But wait a doggone minute..... the House knows that as well as you and me or a random dogwalker out strolling past my house right now. And yet the House has pushed ahead so here’s the obvious question.... what do they know that the rest of us don’t know about what happens in the Senate? They may be misguided with their power hungry nature but that doesn’t make them that totally stupid, does it? Surely they have to have a follow up plan to the whole thing going sideways on them, don’t they?.... what is it?

When it fails in the Senate, the house will just impeach again.
That's still a week in which things could still change, as rapidly as this thing is moving along the tracks. But the money is on them voting to impeach.
My guess, is that they are just doing this to appease their liberal base. Throwing them some red meat.
They know it's a long shot to convict Trump in the Senate but these democRATS are desperate right now to stop or slow Trump down. Maybe even damage him in the 2020 election.
Looks more likely that Trump is gaining momentum with this impeachment effort and their plan will backfire on them.
l don't see Trump being convicted but in politics, as in sporting events, one never knows the outcome until its over.
