Moronic article. He bases his concerns on the fact that there are several purple state Republicans that are worried about re-election. This is nonsensical on its face, as those Senators will immediately lose 50% or more of their Republican base voting to impeach Trump and will get crushed in their re-election races. They’ve already lost almost all of the Democrat vote to begin with so this makes no sense.
The trial in the Senate is always what it has been. If the Senate votes to remove Trump, the Republican Party is finished and will be massacred in the fall elections. The RINOS will fight another day for control of the party but cannot do it when one doesn’t exist.
I’m not so sure. There are enough “R” uniparty Republicans who are happy to be in the minority and are at risk of exposure for enriching themselves and their kin, among other crimes, that they may say screw it and vote Trump out.
Hope I’m wrong because I think it gets ugly fast after that, but when have these bastards put the well being of the citizens ahead of their own place at the trough?
I can only pray that the President has a plan to cut them off at the knees if it goes that far. So far he has outplayed them at almost every turn.
The Republican Party is already dead and once Trump is done, unless he can transform it top to bottom, I’ll never identify as a Republican again. They are merely a slower poison.

This is no longer just about President Trump. The Democrats have declared war on the entire Republican Party, politicians and voters alike.
The Republican Party won in 2016, and the Democrats seek to abuse the impeachment clause to reverse that decision, disenfranchising 63,000,000 voters in the process.
Republican Senators will be solid as a rock - they have no choice.
If Trump is convicted in the Senate there will never be another election in the USA.
