We’ll expect this same ruling if 5 Whites pummel a Black, but they know that never happens, so that’s why they get away with such injustice. All White students should leave that dangerous school.

It is cultural appropriation for a white heterosexual male to claim to be the target of a hate crime.

I detest the idea of hate crime laws for two reasons: They are not enforced uniformly (mostly in prosecuting white-on-black crime, when the vast majority of crime when race is a factor is black-on-white which is rarely even considered) but most of all, hate crime laws require the prosecutors to assume a mind-set of the aggressor.
I cannot help but be reminded of the NY Law called ‘One-punch’. If anyone punches someone else and the victim falls, injures his/her head and dies, murder was not necessarily intended, so the puncher only gets arrested for assault. Not kidding. The ‘Knock-out “GAME”’ is just that. A GAME for ferals to play. No real consequences if the ‘punchee’ dies.
Hate crime laws are, in fact, hate crimes themselves.
So were these loser ferals beating the white kid because they “loved” him? What idiocy. These “authorities” have their heads far up where the sun don’t shine. Racist nitwits.
The point is that “hate crime” elevates the penalties and these kids, who certainly deserved more severe charges and penalties, won’t get them. Had the races been reversed, however, they would most certainly have gotten them.
That’s the issue. I don’t like the “hate crime” stuff either, but that’s how it is.
Under Florida law, an expression of racial animosity during the attack could make it a hate crime, but political animosity would not.

All so-called “hate crime” legislation should be struck down. It violates the equal protection clause of the 14th amendment. Anybody not included in a “protected class” is being discriminated against.
I do too but as long as the legal momster exists, it needs to be applied to all, or none.
Until we get back to none, it needs to be applied to everyone.

I'm somewhat surprised that the poor white kid wasn't charged with something racially insensitive for not supporting the minority culture to act out physically. He should've just taken it, and then paid them his lunch money as reparations. That's the leftist mindset.
I just checked the statute. There’s one interesting omission: political affiliation. IOW, the state’s attorney is arguing the vic wasn’t attacked because he was white. He was attacked for being a Trump supporter, and that isn’t criminal act under FL’s statute.
There’s a new brand of hate being harbored these days, and it’s political.
These laws don’t seem to be serving anyone other than the Left.

It was always meant to equalize the crime rates between blacks and whites. It is part of cultural Marxism.
