I have to admit, I very nearly view things like that as humorous in some way, even thought I know full well I shouldn’t...
I was lucky. I went over to the hanger where the Petty Officer who was my direct superior was working night shift and told him. He was black, and he said “Do you want to get some guys together and go look for them?”
That assault didn’t leave a racial mark on me, probably because of his response. THAT’S leadership...
